Introduction
A screw conveyor or auger conveyor is a mechanism that uses a rotating helical screw blade, called a "flighting", usually within a tube, to move liquid or granular materials.
Features
It is with simple structure, small cross sectional dimension, good sealing performance, low cost and easy operation.
It is convenient to feed and discharge during operation, and the conveying direction can be opposite.
Materials can be mixed, agitated, heated and cooled during conveying.
Material flow can be adjusted by loading/unloading value.
Application
The screw conveyor is suitable for transporting all kinds of powder, particles and small lumps, such as coal, gravel, sand, cement, cereal, etc.
Working principle
Screw conveyor consists of a trough or tube containing either a spiral blade coiled around a shaft, driven at one end and held at the other, or a "shaftless spiral", driven at one end and free at the other. The rate of volume transfer is proportional to the rotation rate of the shaft.
